Configuring Your Browser To Take Our Survey

1. Determine which version of browser you are using. This information is available by selecting  Help located in the menu at the top of the screen. 

2. Click on Help and then the last option; which will be "About", and the type of browser you are using. 

3. Click on the type of browser you are using below to find out what settings need to be enabled on your browser to have the best Internet experience with our site.

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

Enable Popups
Some browsers or browser add-ins allow the user to disable the opening of popup browser windows. These windows often contain advertisements. Our questionnaire operates in a popup window so they must be enabled to take a survey. You may disable popups again after completing the questionnaire.

Enable Cookies
By default your browser's cookie settings are configured correctly.  If you happen to encounter any session issues while browsing, please follow the directions. From the horizontal menu at the top of your screen: click on:

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options
  3. Privacy tab
  4. Click on Advanced
  5. Check "Override automatic cookie handling"
  6. Make sure both settings are set to "Accept"
  7. Place a check in front of "Always allow session cookies".
  8. Click OK at the bottom to exit

Delete Existing Cookies
Sometimes failures to access pages in our site are the result of old cookies stored on your computer. If following these directions causes this type of failure to go away only temporarily, please contact us. From the horizontal menu at the top of your screen, click on:

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options... 
  3. Under Temporary Internet files, click on Delete cookies...
  4. When prompted, "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder?", click OK
  5. Click OK at the bottom to exit

Setting Scripting and Java
From the horizontal menu at the top of your screen, click on:

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options... 
  3. Security Tab
  4. Under "Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings.", click Internet
  5. Custom Level...
  6. Under "Microsoft VM - Java Permissions", click Enable
  7. In the Scripting section under "Active Scripting", click Enable
  8. In the Scripting section under "Scripting of Java applets", click Enable
  9. Click OK
  10. Click OK at the bottom to exit

  4. Scroll down to "Cookies"
  5. Under "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer",  click on Enable
  6. Under "Allow per session cookies (not stored)", click on Enable
  7. Click OK at the bottom to exit

  4. Click Remove All Cookies

From the horizontal menu at the top of your Netscape screen, click on:
  1. Edit
  2. Preferences
  3. Advanced
  4. On the right, under “Enable features that help interpret web pages”, select both "Enable Java” and "Enable JavaScript for Navigator”
  5. Click OK

  4. On the right, make sure that the following are checked:  "Enable Java", "Enable plug-ins", "Enable JavaScript".

  1. File
  2. Preferences
  3. Click on "Privacy" located in the left menu.
  4. On the right, under "Cookies", check "Enable cookies".
  5. In the first drop-down menu, select "Automatically accept all cookies".
  6. In the second drop-down menu, select "Accept from all servers".

  5. Under Scripts and Windows, make sure Enable Java Script for Navigator is checked.
