Define Comparison Groups (Crosstabs)
Define Comparison Groups allows you to select which banner columns to include for significance testing when the Perform significance testing check box is enabled.
By default, significance testing is done for all banner columns. You can use Define Comparison Groups to create alternative comparison groups to the WinCross Executive default.
To add a comparison group:
- Click on a column to add it to a comparison group. You can toggle between including and removing that column from the current group.
- Once a selection has been made for the current group (for example, Group 1), a new empty group is added (for example, Group 2).
- Select more than one column per group.
- You can easily create a comparison group that will test all of the columns in the banner by choosing the Test All option (see below).
- You can easily create a comparison group for each variable selected by choosing the Test by Logic Set option (see below).
To delete a comparison group:
- Select the comparison group by clicking in any cell for that group or selecting the group name (for example, Group 1) on the left side of the group grid.
- Choose the Delete Group option.
- A comparison group can also be cleared and redone by clicking the Clear Group option. Once the group is cleared you can now redo this group.
- Another option to remove comparison groups is selecting the Clear All option. The Clear All option will remove all comparison groups.
Test All
You can easily create a comparison group that will test all of the columns in the banner by choosing the Test All option. The Test by All option will always add a new comparison group with all columns for all variables selected in one group.
Test by Logic Set
You can easily create a comparison group for each component selected by choosing the Test by Logic Set option. The Test by Logic Set option will always add a new comparison group for each component selected in the Banner Columns list. For example, if you selected the components GENDER, INCOME and EDUCATION (in that order) for the banner columns and you choose Test by Logic Set, 3 comparison groups will be added. Group 1 will have the columns for GENDER highlighted, Group 2 will have the columns for INCOME selected and Group 3 will have the columns for EDUCATION selected.
Clear Group
- Select the comparison group by clicking in any cell for that group or selecting the group name (for example, Group 1) on the left side of the group grid.
- Choose Clear Group to clear all of the columns for the selected group. You can now reassign this group, or delete this group by selecting Delete Group.
Delete Group
- Select the comparison group by clicking in any cell for that group or selecting the group name (for example, Group 1) on the left side of the group grid.
- Choose Delete Group to delete the selected group.
Delete All
Use Delete All to delete all existing comparison groups. This will delete all comparison groups that were assigned to this crosstab.
Save Changes
- Save Changes is required to save a comparison group that is manually added. For example, if you click on cells to add a custom comparison group, Save Changes will appear next to Clear All and must be selected to save that comparison group.
- Save Changes is not visible or required when using the Test All or Test by Logic Set options. The comparison groups created using these options are automatically saved.
