Charts
Charts is a second step towards creating dashboards and lets you create, edit, rename and delete charts as well as link and unlink datasets.
Charts are then used for building Dashboards.
New
- Enter the chart Name.
- Adjust the Width, or Height (optional)
- Enter a Title (optional) for the new chart.
- Enter the Description (optional) for the new chart.
- Run Method allows you to select between a standard and side by side chart.
- A standard chart is derived from your typical crosstab
- A side by side table lets you display output on one table that might normally be shown on multiple tables. For example, you might create a side by side for a two-product test, where each product is a banner and the rows represent the same series of questions that were asked for each product. Rather than having to run a set of tables for product A and another for product B, both products could be put in the banner; the common set of questions would need to run only once.
-
Chart type consists of a drop down list containing the available charts in WinCross Executive. This can later be changed.
-
Value Type gives you the options to choose the type of value to be used on the chart. The default is vertical percent, but you have the option to use frequency, horizontal percent, mean, median, standard deviation, or standard error.
- Select Create Chart to create the new chart and move directly to Edit Chart where you will assign Category Components, Series Components, Chart Type and Chart Options.
Duplicate
- Enable the Charts list check box for one or more charts.
- Choose Duplicate to duplicate the selected chart(s).
Delete
- Enable the Charts list check box for one or more charts.
- Choose Delete to delete the selected chart(s). Use caution when deleting charts; the delete operation cannot be undone.
- You cannot delete a chart that is shared to you unless you were given Delete privileges by the Owner of this chart.
Filter to associated dataset
Choose the dataset for use with Charts from the dropdown list. To show all charts owned by or shared to the current user, choose None (show all charts) as your filter.
Link Datasets
- Allows you to link the selected chart(s) to one or more datasets.
- Enable the Charts list check box for one or more charts.
- Choose Link Datasets to display a list of datasets for linking.
- Select the check box for the desired datasets(s) from the list of datasets.
- Choose Link Datasets to link the selected chart(s) to the checked datasets.
- This can be useful when running a wave study and linking the latest data to any given chart. Another example where this can be useful is when creating charts with prelim data. Once fielding has closed you can upload your fina data and associate the final data with the charts you had already created using the prelim data.
Unlink Datasets
- Allows you to unlink the selected chart(s) from one or more datasets.
- Enable the Charts list check box for one or more charts.
- Choose Unlink Datasets to display a list of datasets for unlinking.
- Select the check box for the desired datasets(s) from the list of datasets.
- Choose Unlink Datasets to unlink the selected chart(s) from the checked datasets.
Charts
The Charts list provides the Name and Owner for each Chart owned by or shared to the current user.
- Enable the Charts list check box for a single chart or click anywhere on a chart in the Charts list to highlight a single chart to display Chart Information or make changes to the selected/highlighted chart.
- Only one chart can be highlighted at a time and the Chart Information panel displays information about the highlighted chart.
- If you enable the check box for more than one chart in the Charts list, the Chart Information for the highlighted chart will display whether its check box is enabled or not. If no Chart Information is displayed, a chart in the Chart list has not been highlighted.
- A chart becomes highlighted when either the check box for a single chart is checked or you click anywhere on a single chart in the Charts list.
Chart Information
Chart Information includes the name, description, the number of category and series components, last modified date and time, owner and the linked datasets for the selected Chart.
- Select a chart from the Charts list and choose Run Chart to create a report from the selected chart.
- This allows you to create a report for a single chart without having to add the chart to a dashboard.
- If you need to create one dashboard from multiple charts, use the Dashboards option from the Tabulation menu.
Rename Chart or Update Description
- Enable the Charts list check box for a single chart or click anywhere on a chart in the Charts list to highlight a single chart.
- Select Rename Chart or Update Description at the top of the Chart Information panel for the selected chart.
- Enter a new Name and/or Description.
- Choose Save.
- You cannot rename a chart that is shared to you unless you were given Rename privileges by the Owner of the selected chart.
Linked datasets
The Linked datasets list provides a list of datasets currently linked to the selected chart.
Sharing Details
Sharing Details provides a list of other WinCross Executive users who have been shared to this Chart and what privileges this user has to this Chart.
- You can assign or remove privileges for a chart that is shared to another user by enabling/disabling the Read, Write, Delete, Download/Export, Rename and Move and then choosing Apply.
- You can remove sharing privileges by choosing the Unshare Chart option next to the user that is currently shared to this chart.
Associates
Provides a list of users that you have added as your Associates.
- You can share selected charts to your associates, by choosing the desired Associate from the list and selecting Share to Associate.
- You can share selected charts to all of the Associates in the list by choosing Select all. Only those associates that are confirmed users of WinCross Executive will be assigned sharing privileges to the selected chart.
- The newly shared chart will now appear in the Sharing details list with Read privileges only, as the default.
- Manage Associates will take you to My Associates where you can review, add or remove associates. Alternatively, you can select the My Associates option from the Account dropdown menu to review, add or remove associates.
