WinCross 25 Updates – Build 25.0.250418

General bugs:

  • Excel – TOC – Removing Blank Lines :  Resolved an issue when removing blank lines from the Excel Table of Contents causing an access violation error.  
  • Express Banners – Total Column Refresh:  Fixed a visual bug where inserting a total column into a new banner didn’t always update the significance letters properly in the interface. 
  • Excel – HTML Formatting Preservation:  Corrected a problem where HTML formatting in the table title line was being unintentionally stripped during Excel export. 
  • Excel – Table Title Display with Small Banners:  Fixed a display issue where the table title appeared cut off when using enhanced text and a small banner. 
  • Bonferroni Correction – Comparison Pair Fix:  The Bonferroni correction now correctly calculates the p-value using the number of pairwise comparisons instead of the number of columns.

General bugs:

  • Setup – Banners:  Adding new banners to jobs with multiple banners was overwriting existing banners.  
  • Setup – Tables:  The row options interface was only allowing for single digits in the frequency (AF=) row options menu.  

WinCross 25 Updates – Build 25.0.250409

Enhancements:

  • Express Banners – Insert Total Column:  A new “Insert Total Column” option under Properties automatically adds a Total as the first column when creating a new banner. 
  • Banners – Significance Group Validation:  Added a warning when a significance group includes 'Total' but it isn’t properly marked as the total column. 

General bugs:

  • Sample Balancing – Multiple Filters:  Observed percentages were not updating correctly when using multiple filters. 
  • NPS Summary Tables – Excel Output:  Significance testing results were being omitted from Excel reports. 
  • Setup Banners – Merge Issues in Excel:  Columns with rows sharing identical merge points were sometimes merged incorrectly in Excel output. 
  • Express Banners – Access Violation on Launch:  Opening Express Banner setup with a job file containing a DECLARE statement and no open data file caused an access violation. 
  • RTF Export – Large Banners:  Saving large banners to RTF resulted in formatting issues with banner text. 
  • Express Table Setup – Incomplete Lists:  The Statistics and Total Answering exclude lists did not fully populate when adding new rows. 
  • Tip of the Day – Header Cutoff:  The Tip of the Day header text was getting truncated. 
  • RTF/PDF Export – Express Banner Wrapping:  Saving reports with the new Express Banner editor caused text wrapping and formatting issues in RTF and PDF outputs. 
  • Data File Opening – Unicode Paths:  File paths containing Unicode characters sometimes caused an error when attempting to open the data file. 
  • Table Titles – Pipe Symbol Display Bug:  Adding a third-row pipe (|) in a table title caused the first row to disappear in the interface. 
  • Spell Checker – No Suggestions:  The spell checker was not providing suggestions in Express Table Setup. 
  • Enhanced Text Reports – Alignment Issue:  When Enhanced Text Reports were left-aligned, banner column sequence numbers were also left-aligned, affecting readability. 
  • Pop-Up Windows – Off-Screen Positioning:  Some pop-up windows were appearing off-screen and were not easily accessible. 
  • Glossary Variables – TEST in Loops:  Using the TEST function inside a loop incorrectly triggered a "variable doesn’t exist" error.

General bugs:

  • Logic using a range i.e., Q1 (1-5) was not always working if all ranges on table/banner all started with the same code and ended with a different code. I.e., (1-5), (1-6)
  • Sample Balancing – Loading .sbv’s was not always working and gave incorrect errors.
  • Express Table Setup - Auto – Middle 7 box was using wrong code values.
  • Glossary – Certain Unicode data files when saved from glossary were not always converting apostrophes correctly.
  • Plain text reports were sometimes truncated when saving as RTF.
  • Express Banners – Various border alignment corrections.
  • Side by Side – Using the multi variable (blue arrow) option NETs were not being recognized and gave incorrect error.
  • Side by Side – Variables with only two codes i.e., “checked” and “unchecked” can now correctly be used when creating a multiple response side by side.  

WinCross 24 Updates – Build 24.0.240820

Enhancement:

  • Charts – Ability to change the label color independently from chart area settings.
  • Charts – Ability to change the filter font independently from chart area settings.
  • Side by side – Added column filter.
  • Side by side – Support for all existing table options have been added and better organized.
  • Express table setup – Auto (AI) general functionality improvements.
  • Excel – Remove banner name from TOC.

Program Change:

  • Removed support of ASCII data files. This is prep for a major system performance improvement coming to WinCross 25.

General bugs:

  • Express tables from variable data - On close WinCross stores if Auto or Manual was last used. Also, if legacy table title option is set.
  • NPS with sig testing had incorrect border thickness saving to Excel.
  • Profile settings have been visually improved correcting line cutoffs related to scaling.
  • Presentation – Adding table without banner gave out of bounds error.
  • AUTO (AI) row text count was off when combing two rows.
  • Banners – Applying options to other banners was corrupting applied banners.
  • RTF Reports - Logos were printed multiple times when saving to .rtf.
  • Excel - Blank columns with custom pixel width was using default widths.
  • IDXNET In banner was not working.
  • Side by Side columns with multiple variables were not converting correctly to banner.
  • Side by Side mean override was not sticking.
  • Charts - added progress bar when duplicating charts.
  • Job file – Added right click option to jump to Side by Side section.
  • Run – Checking box to run tables unweighted was not removing weight from Side by Side.
  • Auto (AI) Change with how NETs and reverse the scale are programmed.
  • Network users – Better time conversion for daylight savings across countries.
  • P value trace file showed percentage formatted different based on significance test being used.
  • Presentations crashed when crosstab loaded had less columns than when originally created.
  • LOOP with variable name COUNT incorrectly converted to a string variable.
  • Percentage off was not giving error when line referenced was greater than number of rows only when this was the only error.
  • Sample Balancing – Adding multiple filters would at times cause an access violation.
  • Side by Side – CALC rows gave bad error.
  • Auto – Preview window displayed wrong table when table was inserted, or other tables were deleted.
  • Excel custom background color shading was sometime colliding with default shading.
  • Side by Side – Error when creating from table if table variable had uppercase “I”.
  • Banners – Use Banner – On initial creation all options, weights, and comparison groups are also copied.
  • Excel – Custom significance group shading, and background shading sometimes stepped on each other giving the wrong shading.

  • Enhancement – Profile Settings – Charts – Disable/enable each axis.  
  • Frequency – Canceling a report did not cancel and would continue to run frequency.
  • Saving data from glossary was causing some open ends with ' to show as squares in SPSS.
  • Emoji’s in string variables caused a corrupt Excel file when saving from glossary.
  • Unicode Data file - Last variable when using Unicode var name was not being recognized.
  • Specific characters were causing a corrupt Excel file.
  • Some logic syntax was not correctly highlighting as green and instead showed as black.
  • Enhancement – USE statements that start in the second column and do not have a ^ now give an error.
  • Chance of getting duplicate significance indicators when duplicating multiple columns.
  • Syntax error was not always printing Unicode and occasionally showed ‘???’.
  • Glossary command DELETE did not work for Unicode variables at the end of the data file.
  • Enhance text reports print blank significance lines was not working.
  • Glossary IF statements with Repeat were not written out to datafile from glossary.
  • Charts – Duplicate banner ID when creating multiple new banners.
  • Certain values were converted to HTML syntax when not needed.
  • Glossary statements with DECLARE and ADDLEN gave incorrect results after card 1.
  • Saving from glossary to .CSV was not working.
  • When WinCross Selects was chosen and the banner was predetermined to be independent WinCross did not always exclude 0% from significance testing.
  • Excel pipe character was not shifting down row text.
  • Glossary – New syntax error when REPEAT is used AFTER the right-hand syntax of a statement.
  • Some special characters were causing the job file painter to be off.

WinCross 23 Updates – Build 23.0.230424

  • Glossary TEST command - Print report was printing job file specs instead of TEST results.
  • Row option UNDERLINE was not showing on rows that did not include significance.
  • Excel - Formatting with freeze banner and combine tables occasionally formatted incorrectly.
  • Regression changes:
        LABELS from the glossary caused WinCross to freeze.
        Dependent variable was selectable within the independent list.
  • Charts - Labels with significance were not showing label.
  • Simple Weighting - Weighting with a glossary variable to a different variable gave an incorrect error.
  • New syntax checks for banner weights and banner filter.
  • Row Option Threshold – When using ‘frequency’ or ‘show top rows’ and re-entering the user interface ‘percent’ was incorrectly being set.
  • SPSS Sort Merge was not always merging data when the key field was a string, and the widths were different between files.
  • High Ascii character in table title caused Excel to freeze.
  • Excel – Generate Filter Column – Table option ‘No Answer’ now shows as ‘No Answer Row’. Previously showed as frequency.
  • Using Express table setup creating a glossary variable and then moving the table to the top caused a blank table.
  • Glossary feature DELETE gave an incorrect LABEL error when the character limit exceeded 64 characters.
  • List out of bounds error when running to plain text caused by incorrect banner position.
  • Glossary command REPEAT (R) used variable width instead of number of variables.
  • Setup tables – Row options – Mean number of mentions (MM) was not sticking.
  • Glossary assigning a string variable caused an error.
  • Create banners from tables – adding multiple tables as banners reset the first banner when selecting a separate banner.
  • Data grid and run frequency at times would add extraneous decimal places to the report.
  • Making a change to a chart was resetting series overlap and gap width.
  • SCAN was giving incorrect results when the widths were different across variables.
  • Help – Email WinCross Support was not opening correct file explorer location of C:\ProgramData\WinCross\Support
  • Excel add run - When changing file name and the files are appended there is a new warning asking the user if they want to also change the appended file names.
  • Weighted tables with table option 'OB' suppress blank rows was not suppressing no answer if there were unweighted respondents.
  • Charts - When duplicating a chart the duplicated chart now goes below original chart.
  • Charts – Added header and footer to profile.
  • NPS – VAR+ combined with complex logic was not always producing significant results. 
  • Banner Option - Mean number of mentions was giving mean results instead of mean number of mentions.
  • Sample Balancing – Not all weights were being written when using a filter, IPF, and not writing all cases to file.
  • Indenting / Indented NETS were not exporting to PDF when saving Enhanced text.

  • Saving reports to RPT was not always working.
  • Setup – Express tables from variable data adjusting the table name occasionally removed existing USE statements. 
  • Converting an Excel file to .SAV was not always launching. 
  • HTML formatting for the job title was not converting to Excel’s TOC.
  • Weight variables to the 18th decimal were being read incorrectly.
