This free Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet file, compliments of TAG, enables the market researcher to perform a number of statistical tests of significance. Each test relates to population proportions and means based on sample proportions and means.

Proportions

1.   Test whether a sample proportion is statistically consistent with a theoretical value of the population proportion.

Test whether two sample proportions from independent samples come from populations with the same population proportion.

3.

Test whether two sample proportions from matched samples come from populations with the same population proportion.

4.

Test whether the population proportions for two multinomial categories are equal.
